NEW CHALLENGES AND CHALLENGERS

My name is Christopher Peter and welcome to The Christopher Peter Review.

The quality of policymaking is a result of the pool of candidates available to compete for the 538 spots in Congress, 50 governorships, and single opportunity for President of the United States. While many pundits prefer a quite and predictable path towards nominations, our democracy may be better served with more engaging and thorough discourse reflecting the diverse views of the various sects of each party.

The voters that make up each of the leading political parties are not monolithic on either side. Both Republicans and Democrats hold a blend of views that may fall under the label of conservative, liberal, moderate, or fringe. The successful candidate will usually be the one that finds the right mix that connects the broadest coalition and has the proper timing. Sometimes, you may have the right message, just the wrong time for it.

There are many challengers seeking the 2024 Republican nomination. But, there are only two that have a realistic chance. Former President Donald Trump and highly successful Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. There are two people competing to unseat Joe Biden. While he is on the clear path to continue his plan to rerun, I think there should be some concern of how popular some of the more radical members of his party are showing in the race.

Elections have consequences. Some lasting longer than others. In this new podcast episode, I discuss the 2024 GOP field, ideas for small business, the importance of travel, the NBA finals, and boycotts. Please click below to experience The Challenge.

CRIME & SOCIETY

The CRC Review is your source for common sense commentary covering the public policy and salient topics impacting our national economy and overall society.
Americans deserve to live in communities where law and order is the norm not a privilege. Americans of all backgrounds should be able to raise their children, work, and live their lives in safe communities. Threats to people’s safety, the public’s trust, and the credibility of our economy and institutions cannot be tolerated.

There really is no such thing as a victimless crime. There always is a victim in a crime. Insurance does not address all the repercussions associated with criminal acts. People should not sympathize with those who choose criminal acts. Yes, it is a choice.

Our idea of justice is not always as straight forward as one might ideally expect. The good do not always win and the bad in our society benefit. Americans must require our leaders hold bad actors accountable and improve law enforcement’s ability to bring people to justice in a fair and equal manner.

THE MONEY WE SPEND

The CRC Review is your source for common sense commentary covering the public policy and salient topics impacting our national economy and overall society.

Some people feel that government spending is possible without limitations. These individuals are wrong. There are numerous examples throughout the world that excessive government spending negatively impacts an economy in the long run and devalues currency.

There is a need for government spending in times of crisis or economic instability but spending needs to be limited. The best approach is to utilize on what is needed before the private sector is able to provide for society once again. There is multiplier effect in terms of growth in private sector spending, whereas some economists believe there is a suppressing effect with public spending.

Our spending also should not fully subsidize poverty rather help to elevate people towards income mobility. There will always be some people in need of perpetual assistance, but every able-bodied citizen should be working and contributing to our society.

In this podcast, I discuss how our government spending can be made more efficient and effective. Additionally, I discuss salient current events. Please click above to experience The Money We Spend.

TAKING THE FIGHT TO POVERTY

The CRC Review is your source for common sense commentary covering the public policy and salient topics impacting our national economy and overall society.

The common theme you experience here is the idea of empowering the people. Focusing on allowing people to make the choices that are best for the individual situations, needs, and wants. Americans should not be forced to limit our expectations to the choices afforded by government, rather by those available by our effort, opportunity, and ingenuity.

There is a need to expand opportunity in our society. Broadening the pipelines of success to more communities and groups in our society. The question is whether we do this through redistribution or through expanding the economic principles that made America the leading and most innovative economy in the world.

America must harness the innovation, ambition, and productivity of the American people, which many people seem hesitant to do. America should help more people of all different backgrounds increase investments, entrepreneurial pursuits instead of securing spots on government programs. Americans must be champions of their own success rather than victims of circumstance.

In this podcast, I discuss how America can improve our fight against poverty. I also provide a real-life example of income mobility, which is key to elevating people out of poverty through the dignity of work. Please click on the above to experience Taking the Fight to Poverty podcast.

VALUES, IDEALS, AND SOCIETY

Our perfect imperfect nation is a great nation because of our values, principles, and ideals, despite not always exemplifying them consistently. America is not without flaw. No nation can make that claim. But, a better path forward is to expand the practice of our espoused values and hold all accountable to live up to these standards, not rejecting them for sets that are proven ineffective and oppressive.

ECONOMIC MODELS

My name is Christopher Peter and welcome to the CRC Review. The CRC Review is your source for common sense commentary covering salient topics impacting our society and economy.

No other economic system elevates communities out of poverty over the long-term like free market capitalism. Many of the backers of systems like socialism purposeful ignore the clear and obvious failures of socialism, which empowers government over the people and provides them nothing but prolonged abject poverty and political violence. While free market capitalism has some challenges, it still is the right model for America, considering many of the problems are more a result of poorly constructed public policy than the system itself.

RATIONAL REFORM

My name is Christopher Peter and welcome to the CRC Review. The CRC Review is your source for common sense commentary covering salient topics impacting our society and economy.

All Americans can agree that equal protection under the law should apply to all regardless of demographics. All Americans can understand challenges faced by law enforcement when dealing with suspected criminals in their worst moments. By no means should our men and women in law enforcement be willing victims. But there are reasonable reforms that can be male to ensure even the worse of our society receive due process they are entitled to by our Constitution.

AMERICA, RACE, AND THE FUTURE

America’s diversity is a strength and benefit for our society, allowing our nation to attract the best and brightest in the world. No American should experience racism, but conflicts will always exist between different cultures. Many will be classified as racism, which may not be completely accurate. At the same time, some incidents are dismissed when they are true examples of racism. Our society needs to be able to move forward not with resentment, anger, and vengeance, but understanding, forgiveness, and unity.
